NCCI Large Claims Video And Medical Trend Analysis

Check out this 10-minute NCCI Large Claim video – yes, it is worth your time.  Videos are rarely posted on this website unless they can help out the readers.  This one is very helpful.

Mark Walls of Safety National (good guy to know) wrote about his concerns that the large claims are not analyzed that well in the Rating Bureau system as they drop off the Experience Mod Factors in a few years or the Ultimate Claims Cost Factors (self-Insureds).

Earlier this year, NCCI’s Cristine Pike invited me to cover their Annual Issues Symposium (AIS 2023) in Orlando.  I took her up on her offer and traveled to Florida to see all the sessions. I learned so much in two days that I had info overload.

The articles that I wrote from the conference sessions can be found below.

Bottom Line

Take 10 minutes to check out this NCCI Large Claims video. The large claims analysis was split into two different categories  (2 years pre-and-post injury) which was very helpful. The medical trends in WC covered in this video showed a trend of moving away from back injuries – surprising to me.
