Premium Audit Webinar  – Chittenden Group Insurance Agency

The Chittenden Group insurance agency invited me to do a webinar today on workers comp premium audits and Experience Modification Factors.  I presented for 30 minutes and took 30 minutes of questions.  Whenever a recording becomes available, I will post that here or in another article.

The slides will be better when I receive a copy of the recording.  I did not record it while presenting due to my past bad luck with PowerPoint. I wanted to make sure the presentation would go off without a hitch.  Many of the slides were taken from this website’s 2,300 articles.

Some of the Highlights were that lead to savings were:

Work with Your Premium Auditor

Do not Stand Out in the Crowd – see egg picture

Use Excel – Be Organized

Timely Communications

Two areas where Premium Auditors now look due to remote audits

  • Job Descriptions
  • Employer Websites

Classification Codes – The Ones That Generate the Most Questions – 5606 and others

Primary Loss vs. Excess Loss – Primary Costs You Dearly – Lamborghini vs. Nissan

Safety Is How to Keep Experience Mod Down

The two things during the premium audit webinar that were requested were a link to The Scopes Manual and for a premium audit prep checklist upon receiving an audit notice.  As we have seen since the pandemic, physical audit used to be onsite – now they center around a portal to upload documents.

One great audience question that I was not expecting – Do Premium Auditors check a company’s social media websites? Yes they do if you post links to your social media on your company website  them on your website.  I will write about that subject in the next article.

Thanks to Chittenden Group for inviting me to present a workers comp premium audit webinar on one of the hot topics for employers.
