Workers Comp Heavyweight Gets Her Just Rewards

Workers Comp Heavyweight Kimberly George – Promotion With Sedgwick

I was reading this article on a Workers Comp heavyweight Kimberly George in Business Insurance this morning.  By the way, if you do not read Business Insurance, you are missing out on many great updates throughout the week.

I have known Kimberly George for quite some time.  She and Mark Walls – another Workers Comp heavyweight-  hosted Out Front Ideas with Kimberly and Mark for years. If I did not attend their webinars, I always grabbed a recording to listen to later – worth it.

She is one of the workers comp people that I try to at least have a conversation with at the Workers Comp conference that I attend annually.   One of the secrets to a successful Workers Comp, insurance, or really any other career is attitude and personality.   The other important trait is company loyalty.  Staying at one place for more than 20 years is a rarity now post-pandemic.

Whenever I was in charge of hiring Workers Comp personnel, I always looked to attitude and personality.  Technical know-how is a great attribute.  How you treat people and your business attitude rank at the top of most lists – including mine.  Insurance can be a hard profession at times.

According to the article, she was one of the Women to Watch in Insurance in 2011.

From the Business Insurance article –

Sedgwick Claims Management Services Inc. on Monday announced it has appointed Kimberly George as its first global chief brand officer. In her 22 years at Sedgwick, Ms. George has held numerous roles in operational, innovation, and product development and most recently served as global head, innovation and product development. She will continue to be based in Chicago.

Once again, congrats to Kimberly – a well-deserved promotion.
