Workers Comp ChatGPT Was Totally Wrong on History

I started to use Workers Comp ChatGPT to see what the AI had to say about how we got to where we are in the World of Workers Comp.  See below.  I was attempting to see what Workers Comp ChatGPT would look like and to see how accurate the AI was on a subject near and dear to me, the newsletter readers, and the article readers.  Wow! Bummer – see below.  ChatGPT is currently down.  How can AI be down?  I tried to use ChatGPT premium.  That was also a dead-end.  The system came back on after 45 minutes.   You can find ChatGPT at this link.  I recommend giving it a visit and asking a question to see if the new wave AI is up to par.

My Question – Describe the History of Workers’ Compensation

See the next section for my comments on Workers Comp ChatGPT.

The history of workers’ compensation dates back to the Industrial Revolution of the late 19th century when rapid industrialization and modernization led to an increase in work-related injuries and deaths. Prior to workers’ compensation laws, injured workers had few options for compensation and were often left without any means of support.

The first workers’ compensation law in the world was enacted in Germany in 1884. <Totally Incorrect> It provided benefits for workers who were injured on the job, regardless of fault. Other European countries followed suit, and by the turn of the century, workers’ compensation laws had been established in many European nations.

In the United States, workers’ compensation laws were first enacted at the state level in the early 20th century. In 1911, Wisconsin became the first state to pass a comprehensive workers’ compensation law. Other states soon followed, and by 1949, all states had some form of workers’ compensation program in place.

The basic idea behind workers’ compensation laws is that if an employee is injured on the job, the employer is responsible for paying for medical treatment and providing compensation for lost wages. This system is designed to ensure that injured workers receive prompt and fair compensation, without having to go through the time-consuming and expensive process of suing their employer.

Over the years, workers’ compensation laws have evolved to include a wide range of benefits, (I stopped it here).

AI is not as Accurate As One Thinks

As many Workers Comp pundits have been incorrect on the origins of Workers’ Compensation so was Workers Comp ChatGPT.

You can find the correct answer right here on this website.  See the Ancient Sumeria article here.   The first Workers’ Compensation system was created in 2050 BC in ancient Sumeria.  Surprisingly, they even had a Permanent Partial Disability schedule etched in stone tablets.

My Workers Comp ChatGPT article turned out to be inaccurate because I used AI.  The ChatGPT system will improve over the years.
