A Professional Employer Organization is an organization that, by signed contract, assumes all of the human resources duties of the contracting employer, effectively becoming the employer of record. A PEO provides and pays for all payroll and related taxes, insurances, safety and risk management programs.
PEOs have become a tool for employers to cost effectively bypass this portion of their operation without giving up the day to day management of their employees.
